2016 Incentive Programs The AzRHA is very excited to offer the following Incentive Programs: AzRHA Horse of the Year Award AzRHA Arabian Horse of the Year Award AzRHA Rising Star Award AzRHA HORSE OF THE YEAR: This award recognizes the “War Horses” in our club…. The horses that show in many divisions, Open, Non Pro, Novice Classes, Rookie, Green and Youth.  These are very special horses and they deserve to be recognized for their hard work.   This award will be based on actual scores received in each concurrent run of classes at all shows.  Scores received will be added from each eligible concurrent run of classes in which the horse is shown.  Class scores cannot be combined, only one score per run.  The AzRHA Horse of the Year will receive some very special prizes at the Year End Awards Banquet. For Example:  Tammy Turner shows her horse Spinner in the Rookie 1 and Prime Time Rookie classes during the Rookie concurrent classes.  She scores a 68.  Spinner will receive 68 points for that run.  Spinner is then shown by trainer Joe Reiner in the Limited Open and Prime Time Open classes during the Open concurrent classes.  They score a 72.  Spinner will receive 72 points for that run.  Spinner is then shown by Tori Turner in the Youth 14-18 class during the Youth concurrent classes.  They score a 70.  Spinner will receive 70 points for that run.  Spinner has shown three times at this show and has a total score of 210 points.   Example of Concurrently Run Classes: Open, Intermediate Open, Limited Open, Prime Time Open, Rookie Professional, Ladies and Gents Open Novice Horse Level 1 and Novice Horse Level 2 Novice Horse Non Pro Level 1 and Novice Horse Non Pro Level 2 Non Pro, Intermediate Non Pro, Limited Non Pro, Prime Time Non Pro, Masters Non Pro, Ladies and Gents Non Pro Rookie Level 1, Rookie Level 2 and Prime Time Rookie Green Reiner 1 and Green Reiner 2 Youth 13 & Under, Youth 14-18, Unrestricted Youth, Youth Rookie OR Youth 10 & Under A horse can show in as many concurrently run classes per slate as eligible, however, the maximum amount of runs that will count per each horse is 4 (four).  If a horse shows more than four times, the highest four scores will count for his/her points for that slate/show.  Horses must show in more than half of the scheduled shows per calendar year.  Reining Classes are the only classes that will count towards this award. Exhibitors will be required to notify AzRHA of the classes and scores to be credited within 10 days after each show.  Reminders will be sent via the AzRHA Facebook Page and on the website.  In order to calculate the Year End Placings for this award correctly, scores will not be calculated after November 15th of the calendar year. . WHAT MAKES THIS PERSON STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD?   If you know of an AzRHA member who has put in a lot of time, effort, energy, has a great attitude, is a good sport, helpful to others, and shows at our shows, please honor them with a nomination. Nominations are accepted throughout the year and must be received by December 1st of the calendar year via email to AZRHACOMMUNICATIONS@GMAIL.COM. All Nominations are accepted and reviewed by the Awards Committee and recommendations are given to the AZRHA Board of Directors who make the final decision.  These are always very heated discussions….. Please be very specific as to why you think this person should be the next “AzRHA RISING STAR”….. Some of the past recipients were described as follows….   “Works hard every lesson to improve their skills” “This person seemed to come out of nowhere and really improved this year” “Trailers in for lessons and does the majority of work on their own” “Always has a smile and a great attitude” “Shows at every show and really has improved” “Tries really hard, and does not give up”
