2010 AzRHA Youth Grants

 

Individual Rider Reward Grants

 

Grants to be awarded based on participation in all of the following categories:  youth club events/fundraising, meeting attendance, volunteer work in the community, and essay.

 

13 & Under Grant for $450

13 & Under Grant for $350

13 & Under Grant for $250

 

14-18 Grant for $450

14-18 Grant for $350

14-18 Grant for $250

 

 

Affiliate Competitor Grants (Money to come from youth fundraising with matching funds from AzRHA.)

 

This is a way to help our Arizona youth compete on a national level. In addition to qualifying, each rider would have to agree to donate 10 hours of service to our adult club by doing odd jobs at shows or other events.

 

Grants to be awarded to a team of 4 riders:

2 – 13 & Under

2 – 14-18

 

$750 per team member

Awarded to 1st and 2nd place in regional affiliates (alternates advised)

 

 

Out-of-Town Travel Grant

 

Grants to be awarded to an Arizona rider wishing to attend a show that is out of their immediate travel area (more than 65 miles).  This show can be out of state.  Grants will be based on need, volunteer work and essay stating which show and why they want to attend.

 

1 - $400 Grant to 13 & Under

1 - $400 Grant to 14-18

 

 

Total money from youth for grants:    $4,400.00

Total money from AzRHA:                $1,500.00

Important Info for Youth Planning to compete in USEF Qualifier in February.

 

  • You must be a member of USEF and you can join online at www.usef.org.
  • Remember to get your horse a competition ID (this is free and can be done online at www.usef.org)
  • Horses showing in USEF classes do not have to be owned by the rider.
  • Horses showing in USEF classes are subject to drug testing. For more info go to www.usef.org. Find the disciplines tab and go to reining and then select young riders program, scroll down and look at info under USEF championships and qualifiers.
  • We will have a separate USEF entry blank at the show that you can fill out in the office - go ahead and enter the class on the normal entry blank for now so that we can get a head count!
  • We will have additional info about USEF and our next competition available in the office.
  • There will be an additional fee of about $15(above the entry fees) for USEF drug/administration fees.
